Lere Olayinka Reacts As Aisha Yesufu Tackles Seriake Dickson, Says He Will Make NDC Lose 2027

A media aide to the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Lere Olayinka, has reacted to comments made by activist Aisha Yesufu against Senator Seriake Dickson, in which she accused the former Bayelsa State governor of undermining his party's chances ahead of the 2027 presidential election.

Yesufu's criticism followed an interview by Dickson, the National Leader of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), during which she claimed his remarks projected insecurity and suggested he was competing with the party's presidential candidate rather than supporting the campaign.

According to Yesufu, Dickson's conduct during the interview raised concerns about internal unity within the opposition party.

"This part of the interview was so painfully appalling to watch. It looked as if you were insecure and in competition with your presidential candidate," she stated.

The activist further warned that such an attitude could hurt the NDC's electoral prospects in 2027, arguing that party leaders must work collectively to strengthen public confidence in the party and its candidate.

Her remarks have since sparked reactions across social media, with supporters and critics weighing in on the growing debate over the opposition party's internal dynamics and readiness for the next general election.

Lere Olayinka also joined the conversation, drawing attention to Yesufu's comments as discussions continue over the NDC's strategy and leadership cohesion ahead of the 2027 polls.

The exchange comes amid increasing political activity and realignments among major parties as preparations gradually intensify for the next presidential election.

Neither Dickson nor the NDC leadership had officially responded to Yesufu's comments at the time of filing this report.
