Former Kogi West Senator Dino Melaye has intensified his criticism of the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, calling on Nigerians to oppose the President's re-election bid in 2027 while accusing the Presidency of disrespecting the office of the Governor of Oyo State. Watch the video HERE 

Melaye made the remarks in a video shared on his official Instagram page on June 1, 2026. In the video, the outspoken politician expressed concern about the country's direction and urged citizens to become more involved in shaping Nigeria's political future.

According to Melaye, Nigeria is facing serious economic and governance challenges that require urgent attention. He argued that the upcoming 2027 election should be viewed as a critical moment for the country rather than merely another political contest between parties.

Addressing Nigerians directly, Melaye claimed that the nation is experiencing one of the most difficult periods in its history and called for what he described as extraordinary decisions to address the situation.

He maintained that preventing President Tinubu from securing a second term should not be considered a partisan objective but rather a national concern. 

According to him, citizens must carefully evaluate the country's current condition before making decisions in future elections.
