Imo State billionaire and philanthropist, High Chief Chibuike Achigbu, popularly known as Akacha Nwata 1 of Nkwerre, has dismissed widespread beliefs in “ogwu ego,” describing it as fiction and outright fraud.
Speaking during an interview on Creative Lord TV, the business mogul addressed the controversial practice often associated with rituals for instant wealth.
Achigbu was emphatic in his rejection of the concept, insisting that it has no basis in reality.
“I can tell you there is nothing like ogwu ego, it's fiction, it's fraud, money doesn't fall from heaven” he declared during the interview.
His remarks come amid growing concerns over ritual-related crimes and the desperation for quick riches among some Nigerian youths.
Achigbu cautioned young people against being misled by individuals who exploit cultural beliefs and economic hardship to perpetrate scams.
According to him, wealth is built on hard work, consistency, strategic investment and integrity, not mystical practices.
He stressed that many so-called native doctors and spiritualists who claim to provide money-making charms are merely preying on vulnerable individuals.
The Nkwerre-born businessman urged parents, community leaders and religious institutions to intensify efforts in mentoring young people and promoting legitimate pathways to financial success.
He warned that the belief in shortcuts to wealth often leads to crime, regret and ruined lives.
Achigbu further encouraged aspiring entrepreneurs to focus on acquiring skills, education and business knowledge rather than seeking supernatural solutions.
He noted that discipline and patience remain critical ingredients for sustainable prosperity.
