I Think Fubara Has Learnt His Lesson Since He Has Come Back To The Fold, They’ll Move On–Sobowale

Political analyst Dayo Sobowale has shared his thoughts on President Bola Tinubu’s involvement in the political crisis between Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara and the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike.

Speaking during an interview on Arise TV, Sobowale suggested that the situation in Rivers State may soon stabilize.

He explained that Wike’s political position is complicated, as he is not officially a member of the APC and is also facing issues within the PDP.

According to him, much depends on Wike’s relationship with the current federal government.

Sobowale said he believes Governor Fubara has now understood the political realities around him and has returned to align with the powerful forces in the state. Because of that, he expects both sides to move forward and put their differences behind them.

He also pointed out that Wike still holds strong political influence in Rivers State, especially as a serving minister.

In his view, if Wike remains politically active and maintains his influence, he could help the APC secure victory in Rivers State in the 2027 general elections.

Sobowale added that the PDP appears to be weakening, while the ADC does not seem to have strong support in Rivers.

He concluded that if Fubara and Wike have truly settled their disagreements, it could make the path easier for the APC to gain control of the state in the next election cycle.

In his words, "I would think Fubara has learnt his lesson now, since he has come back to the fold. They'll move on."
