I should say the truth, we wanted to go and carry another person- Kidnapper says after he was caught

A young woman in Delta State was rescued by local vigilantes after what was meant to be an online date reportedly turned into a kidnapping and robbery attempt.

According to The Nation, reports shared online said she had been chatting with a man she met on social media and later agreed to see him in person. 

Instead of taking her to a public place, he allegedly led her to a quiet bush path. There, he and another person reportedly tied her to a tree and forced her to reveal her bank details.

The woman later told those who rescued her that the suspects were able to transfer N100,000 from her account before help arrived.

However, the vigilantes in the area were able to step in and freed her. Authorities are now investigating the case, trying to trace the transferred money and find out the real motives of the suspects.

While one of the suspects was talking in the video, he said, "My name is Happy. We carried her at Akpobi Junction, and I wasn't the one chatting her, it was the other guy that was chatting her.
